182 years of service— OABCIG approves six early retirement applications

The OABCIG School Board approved fiscal year 2020-21 early retirement applications for six staff (three certified and three non-certified) members at its Feb. 8 meeting. The staff members represent a total of 182 years of experience in the districts.

Early retirement applications and resignations accepted for certified staff were Steve Brown, Kim Schmidt and Lynette Wunschel. Early retirement applications and resignations approved for non-certified staff were Randy Nepper, Karen Hemer and Pat Bell.

The board agreed to serve as the fiscal sponsor for the Parent Teacher Partnership Ida County Community Betterment Foundation application to purchase decodable books for the OABCIG Elementary-Ida Grove center.

Thirteen change orders for the high school addition, totaling $1,734.95, were authorized.

Estes Construction project manager Erik Johansen gave an update on the high school building project.
