2017 year in Review Part One

Following is a review of 2017 Ida County Courier headlines from January through June.


Ida County Board of Supervisors reduced the compensation board’s recommendation by 1 percent to 5 percent.

Stacey Schnuckel of Odebolt and Tyler and Amanda Schnuckel of Holstein participate in 300-plus choir for a Mass celebrated by Pope Francis for the close of the Jubilee Year of Mercy in Rome.

The Battle Creek-Ida Grove Elementary addition was ready for use when students returned to classes Jan. 3.

Ida Grove Mayor Morris Hurd resigns the day after the Ida Grove City council rejected the reappointment of City Clerk Edie Ball.

Two new Ida County supervisors were sworn into office, along with Ida County Auditor Lorna Steenbock. The new supervisors are Raymond Drey and Creston Schubert.

Ida Grove Chamber of Commerce holds ribbon cutting for the recently completed Battle Creek-Ida Grove Elementary School building project, including new classrooms and a gym.
