A new facility in Alta will offer a venue for farmers as it serves both the food and fuel markets and draws producers from throughout the region as the offshoot of Butler County’s Shell Rock Soy Processing Plant, with both projects seeking to transform agricultural production in Iowa.

At their core, both efforts are seeking to boost efficiency and keep value close to home for farmers.

Coming up, area roadways should be buzzing as the new facility gets up to speed, creating a major outlet for grain in what organizers call a move to improve value-added agriculture in Iowa.
