City requests $291K from supervisors for bridge project

The Ida County Board of Supervisors met Jan. 29 to discuss the city of Ida Grove’s request for $291,000 toward funding a bridge project.

Representing the city of Ida Grove were Mayor Devlun Whiteing, councilmen Ryan Goodman and Scott Tomlinson, city clerk Heather Sweeden and project management clerk Kelly Young.

The city of Ida Grove is working toward replacing the Moorehead Avenue bridge, which is part of the town’s farm-to-market road. It is a project the city would like to see completed sooner, rather than later, as they want farmers to have the most direct route to the grain elevator.
