Falcons fall in playoff scoring blitz

OABCIG and Southeast Valley of Gowrie scored a combined 100 points in Southeast Valley’s 58-42 first round class 2A football playoff contest in Gowrie Friday. The two teams combined for 45 first downs and 1,056 yards of offense.

“I’ve been in high scoring games, but not one where neither defense could stop the other team’s offense,” noted OABCIG coach Larry Allen. “Going into the game, we knew we would have a hard time stopping their running game. We thought we would need two or three stops to give ourselves a chance. But, on the other hand, they couldn’t stop us either. Playing in a game with more than 1,000 yards of offense was just crazy, and it came down to just a few plays that made the difference.”
