Holstein Council discusses safety issues, approves utility increases

Holstein City Council discussed the Hanover Street capital improvement project, changing the timing on the stoplights on Highway 59 and parking concerns at the ball diamond during its meeting June 4.

The council also approved four ordinances and the 2017-18 wage resolution. All four ordinances go into effect upon publication in the Holstein Advance.

City Administrator Kay Hanson discussed the proposed Hanover Street capital improvement project. Last month, public works director Scott Niemeier informed the council that Hanover Street has deteriorated to the point it can’t be properly plowed. He recommended televising the sewer lines and moving the project to a high priority.
