Ida County Community Betterment Foundation awards $101,403 in grants

The Ida County Community Betterment Foundation (ICCBF), an affiliate of the Siouxland Community Foundation, recently awarded grants totaling $101,403 to nonprofit organizations in support of projects and programs throughout Ida County. This brings the total grants awarded to more than $1.2 million since the first grants were made in 2006. 

The following grant awards were announced at a special event May 5 at the Battle Creek Alumni Shelter in Battle Creek:

Arthur Public Library, library holdings’ automation, $3,130.67; Battle Creek Public Library, technology enter, $4,525; Camp High Hopes, summer sleep-away camp support, $3,500; City of Arthur, welcome signs, $6,127.60; Dibbern Post #454, Galva American Legion, metal covering roof and wall, $10,000; Galva Township Fireboard, Inc., fire station roof replacement, $10,000; Holstein Cemetery Association, cemetery software, $10,000; Holstein Chamber of Commerce, welcome sign project, $10,000; Ida County Agricultural Society Inc., fairground storm shelter/handicap bathroom, $10,000; Ida County Conservation Foundation, conservation center parking lot, $10,000; Ida Grove Foundation, Inc., King Theatre renovation, $10,000; Ida Services Inc., ISI, agency vehicle proposal, $10,000, and Sealed With A Kid Daycare dba Kidzone, shed and shade, $4,030.
