IG council addresses major projects

During its April 1 meeting, the Ida Grove City Council addressed several major projects with which the city is confronted. Those projects include improvements to the sewer and water systems, replacement of the Moorehead Avenue bridge and renovation of the community hall/city hall.

In recent weeks, the council has received reports from JEO Consultants, the city’s engineering firm, relating to needed repairs to the city’s sewer and water systems. If all the recommendations in the water system report are undertaken, the estimated cost is approximately $5.3 million. If all of the sewer improvements are undertaken, the approximate cost is in the area of $4.6 million.

The estimated cost to replace the Moorehead Avenue bridge is $1.6 million, and a complete renovation of the community/city hall is estimated at $1.3 million.
