IG council discusses need for housing

he Ida Grove City Council approved participation in the Rural Housing Readiness Assessment conducted by Iowa State University Extension during the council’s Feb. 3 meeting. The decision came following discussion on the need to develop affordable housing in the community.
Rita Frahm of Ida County Economic Development provided the council with information about the Rural Housing Readiness Assessment, which is a plan that helps communities gather information about housing in the city and determine initial housing needs. This is done through community input.
