IG council gets input on city hall project

by MIKE THORNHILL
The Ida Grove City Council held a public meeting Monday, Aug. 24, to share information regarding plans for the city hall/community hall project. A similar meeting was held Tuesday, Sept. 1.
The purpose of the two meetings was to seek public feedback and opinions on two possible plans the city is considering. The council is considering renovation of the current city hall/community hall or the purchase of the former Courier building on Second Street.
Mayor Devlun Whiteing opened the Aug. 24 meeting by stating the city’s main goal is to maximize the use of the city hall/community hall while minimizing the tax burden on taxpayers. He added, regardless of which option the council decides to pursue, taxpayers will not see an increase in their property taxes.
