ISI moves forward after closure of can redemption center

Ida Services Inc. (ISI) has been a part of the Ida County community for more than 40 years. ISI helps integrate consumers into being active and supporting members of the community through a variety of services. Those services include day habilitation, pre-vocational, individual and group employment services and supported community living.

In June, the ISI Board made the difficult decision to close its can redemption center. For more than 30 years, ISI provided a can and bottle redemption center and client-training center in Battle Creek. During this time, ISI received one cent for every can and bottle redeemed, while customers received five cents for each can and bottle brought to the center.
