King Theatre group eyes summer opening

Renovation work on the King Theatre in Ida Grove has resumed in recent weeks. The goal of the renovation committee is to have the theatre open for moviegoers sometime this summer.

Workers from West Central Construction poured footings Friday along a portion of the sidewalls of the theatre to support new floor joists in the area of what will be the screen and several front rows of seating. The work comes on the heels of rebuilding the back wall of the theatre last fall. The wall had to be replaced when it collapsed in June of last year.
