OABCIG gears up for homecoming week

OABCIG’s homecoming theme this year is “Tis the Season.”

High school students marked each day of the week with special events. Thursday, Oct. 3, is Generation Day and Friday, Oct. 4, is Spirit Day (dress in black, purple and silver).

The annual homecoming parade will start Thursday, Oct. 3 at 6 p.m. Parade entries need to be lined up at 5:30 p.m. on Second Street from Quimby Street west to Jasper Avenue. United Bank of Iowa will host pre-parade grilling at 5 p.m. in front of Family Eye Care. Proceeds from the grilling to go to the Athletic Booster Club.

The parade will start at Second and Quimby Streets, heading east on Second to Main Street and then south on Main Street to Fourth Street to finish. The school has asked that, beginning at 5 p.m., there be no parking on the parade route (Second Street from Taylor to Main and Main from Second to Third Street). There are two reasons behind this request; better viewing and safety.
