OABCIG likely to seek third bond election

The OABCIG School District’s second bond attempt failed to pass by eight votes, much improved from the first bond election in September 2017.

The district’s $16.4 million bond failed to reach 60 percent voter approval Dec. 11, falling short by eight votes. A total of 655 yes and 450 no votes were cast in the election.

Vote totals were as follows: Odebolt-Arthur—157 yes, 150 no; Battle Creek—73 yes, 135 no; Ida Grove—357 yes, 152 no; absentee—68 yes, 13 no. A total of 1,106 voters, or 27.37 percent, of the district’s 4,041 registered voters went to the polls.
