Penny Lou Radke

 

GLENWOOD – Private family services will be held for Penny Lou Radke, 72, of Glenwood, formerly of Holstein. Burial will be in the Holstein Cemetery at Holstein. There will be no public visitation.

She died Aug. 22, 2020, at Glen Haven Village in Glenwood.

Penny was born Feb. 11, 1948, to Virgil and Elmeree (Schrader) Radke at Cherokee. She was baptized in April 1948 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Galva.

Penny spent her first three years at home with family. In September 1951, she moved to Glenwood, where she lived the rest of her life.

Penny enjoyed listening to soft music, sitting outside on the patio of her home and all of the short bus rides to the ice cream store for a dish of ice cream or yogurt.

She is survived by her mother, Elmeree; two brothers: Michael (Anita) Radke and Thomas (Gladys) Radke; a sister, Lisa (Brian) Cronin; three uncles: Kenneth (Mary) Radke, Arlo Dean (Margaret) Radke and Lee (Beverly) Radke; many nieces and nephews; and cousins.

Penny was preceded in death by her father, Virgil, in 1963; her grandparents, Elmer and Nina Schrader and Albert and Dorretta Radke; an aunt, Elsie (Wilbert) Otto; and an uncle, Wendell Radke.
