Ridge View girls fall one game short of state tournament

The Ridge View girls lost to Aplington-Parkersburg (A-P) 62-55 in a class 2A regional basketball tournament final game in Fort Dodge Feb. 18. The loss brought an end to what coach Brian Bode called a memorable season.

"I'm so proud of our team,” said Bode. “I'm so proud of our seniors. We didn't win, but we never gave up and I'm so proud of them for that and their commitment to the team and themselves. For us to finish the season with that kind of run made it memorable and I'll never forget it."

The Raptors were 4-1 over the course of their last five games to finish the season with a 14-10 record. The list of games included a 10-point win over 14th ranked South Central Calhoun in the regional semifinal and the seven-point loss to A-P, ranked 12th in the state, in the regional final.
