Betty Lou (Noll) Hedberg was born on Feb. 7, 1952, in Ida Grove. She was the oldest of six children born to Wilmer “Bill” and Freda (Blidegn) Noll. Betty grew up on a farm north of Ida Grove and had many found memories of her time there with her parents and siblings. Betty received her education from Ida Grove High School graduating with the class of 1971. After graduation, Betty went to work at Cronk’s Café in Denison.
Later, Betty met Jerry Lee Hedberg and the two were married on May 28, 1972, in South Dakota. They were blessed with three children: Travis Lee, Christina Louella, and Wendy LeAnn. Betty worked for a few area packing plants before finding her forever job as a CNA for 38 years. She enjoyed taking care of the residents and joking around with them.
In her spare time, Betty enjoyed crocheting, painting, and sewing. She treasured time spent with her family, whether it was going camping or attending family gatherings. Betty and her dear friend, Dar Vonnahme, enjoyed going on trips together, camping, and the occasional visit to the casino. Betty will forever be remembered by those who knew and loved her as being a fierce, strong woman with a fire cracker personality.
Left to cherish her memory include her children Travis Hedberg of Pomeroy, Iowa, Christina (Dwayne) Scannell of Ida Grove, and Wendy Hedberg of Battle Creek; grandchildren Ethan Hedberg, Danielle Anderson, Ashley Anderson, and Derek Hedberg; four great-grandchildren; brothers Richard (Liz) Noll of Sioux Rapids, Iowa, Robert (Darlene) Noll of Early, Iowa, Lyle (Roxanne) Noll of Cherokee, Iowa and Dale Noll of Harlan, Iowa; sister Beverly (Bob) Flewelling of Sioux City; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
