Patricia Ann “Trish” (Knop) McDaniel, was born on Aug. 10, 1955, the beloved daughter of Herbert and Beatrice “Trixie” (O’Donnell) Knop. Trish grew up in Woodbine, Iowa and graduated from Woodbine High School with the class of 1974.

In 1976, Trish married Gary McDaniel. Together, they built a beautiful life with their two daughters, Farrah Sherman and Brianne Heng. In her early years, Trish enjoyed living on a farm with Gary, being out in the sun, and working in the garden. After Gary passed away in 1985, she built a life with Steven McDaniel. They were together nearly 40 years.

Trish’s primary occupation was being a wife and mother, roles she cherished. She had a deep love for all animals, especially dogs and elephants. She also had a love for watching sports (Minnesota Vikings and Twins), judge shows, The Golden Girls, Everybody Loves Raymond, and the Hallmark channel. She enjoyed her daily dose of Dt. Pepsi (sometimes multiple doses) and Dt. Sunkist Orange. Trish loved listening to music with Fleetwood Mac, Anne Murray, and the Bee Gees being her favorites. She treasured time spent with her family whether it was spoiling her grandchildren, taking walks with her daughters, or hunting for mushrooms.

Trish’s warmth, kindness, and love for her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Left to cherish her memory include her significant other Steven McDaniel of Council Bluffs; daughters Farrah (John) Sherman of Findlay, Ohio and Brianne (Adam) Heng of Elkhorn, Nebraska; her cherished grandchildren Gavin Montgomery, Jackson and Addyson Heng; brother Gary Knop of Oshkosh, Wisconsin; sisters Jacqueline (Randy) Struck of Schleswig, Linda Knop (Tina) of Old Town, Florida, and Tracey (D.J.) Newman of Odebolt; sister-in-law Susan Knop of Arthur; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
