3/27/2013 Sheriff's department releases January, February statistics
The Ida County Sheriff's Office released statistics for January and February at the Ida County Public Safety and Communication Commission meeting in Ida Grove March 19.
A total of 108 hours were spent on special investigations; nine accidents were investigated; 48 civil papers were served; there were eight motorist assists; eight citizen assists; and 482 premise examinations.
Deputies logged 12,666 miles. A total of 58.5 hours were spent in the office; 45 hours were spent at training/meetings; 16.25 vacation hours were used; one hour was spent in court; and 28.05 comp hours were used.
Patrol hours by district were Ida Grove-358.33, Holstein-207.5, Battle Creek-118.5, Galva-121, Arthur-74, rural-219 and other-16.
Total losses from theft, burglary and criminal mischief during the month amounted to $996 with $100 recovered.
In January, 17 males and four females were booked into the jail. Two arrests were for felonies and 19 were for misdemeanors. This compares to 22 inmates (19 males and three females) booked into jail in January 2012 (seven for felony arrests and 15 for misdemeanor arrests).
A total of 44 citations and 40 warnings were issued as follows: Ida Grove-four citations and nine warnings, Holstein-five citations and two warnings, Battle Creek-one citation and two warnings, Galva-three citations and one warning, Arthur-two citations and two warnings; and county-29 citations and 24 warnings.
