The OABCIG wrestling squad traveled to Onawa on Thursday, to grapple with Western Valley Conference foes West Monona-Whiting, Westwood (Sloan), and Kingsley-Pierson.
The Falcons fell to the Spartans 50-30, lost to the Rebels 64-18, and came up just short against the Panthers, 48-35.
Against West Monona, the Falcons got pins from Jed Wulf (138 lbs), Dustin Riessen (150), and Carter Schaeding (215).
The Ridge View wrestling squad hosted the Raptor Duals on Saturday in Holstein. The Raptors had several wrestlers perform well at the tournament.
Ridge View's 113-pounder Kyler Crum pinned two opponents and won a 14-7 decision. At 144 lbs, the Raptors’ Lukas Bruns won two matches by pin as well as an 18-2 technical fall. Ridge View 150-pounder Landyn Peterson, who also wrestled up a class at 157, pinned two opponents and won a medical forfeit.
The Ridge View girls wrestling team hosted a competitive night of duals against Algona, Woodbury Central, and Western Iowa, showcasing resilience and progress as the season builds momentum. Team results

The Ridge View girls basketball team handed OABCIG its first loss of the season Friday night, getting past the Falcons 48-38 in a conference showdown at Ida Grove.
The two squads engaged in a hotly contested first quarter, which ended with the Raptors holding a slight 8-7 advantage. Ridge View would get things rolling in the second quarter, scoring 16 points to OABCIG’s nine, and taking an eight-point lead of 24-16 into the halftime break.
The Ridge View boys basketball team was in Ida Grove on Friday night, taking on OABCIG in another conference rivalry matchup.
The Raptors raced out to an early 19-9 lead, only to see the Falcons fight back to within three at 19-16. Ridge View knocked down a three-pointer at the first quarter buzzer, to go ahead 22-16 after one quarter of play.
The Raptors put together a solid second quarter, outscoring OABCIG 13-6 for a 35-22 advantage at the halftime break.
