Donna F. Krayenhagen

1939 – 2026

SIOUX CITY - Donna Faye Krayenhagen, 86, of Sioux City, passed away March 4, 2026 at Bickford Cottage. A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 12, at 11 a.m., with a visitation one hour prior at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City. Burial will be at Ida Grove Cemetery in Ida Grove at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 14.

Donna was born on July 18, 1939, in rural Sac County, to Ira and Dorothy (McCaulley) Rubendall. At age 12, she moved with her family to a farm West of Mapleton. She graduated from Mapleton High School in 1956. On April 21, 1957, she married Le Roy Krayenhagen in Mapleton. To this union, they had four sons: Terry, Scot, Brian, and Barry, and a daughter, Cindy, who passed at birth. The family lived in the Ida Grove area and later moved to Danbury. Donna worked several years for G & M Farm Service in Ida Grove, for Triber Furniture in Danbury, and for 23 ½ years for the Department of Human Services in Sioux City.

Her passion in life was supporting her sons in baseball and band. She never missed a game, always rooted the loudest, and would travel forever to listen to her boys compete in band competitions. Her other passion was her music. She played piano and organ until her last months. In her final days at the keyboard, she loved to play church songs like the “Old Rugged Cross.”

Those left to honor her memory include her sons: Terry (Linda), Scot (Leann), Brian (Joan), and Barry (Cherrie); several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sister Dorothy (Richard) Uhl, and sister-in-law Judy Krayenhagen King.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter, two brothers, and three sisters.
