GALVA - Mildred I. Krambeck, 98, of Galva, passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital of Denison. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at 2 p.m. at the St. John’s Lutheran Church of Galva with Rev. Paul D. Egger officiating. Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial is at the Holstein Cemetery of Holstein. The Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home of Holstein is in charge of the arrangements.
Mildred Ida Krambeck, the daughter of John and Sophie (Koehlmoos) Tesch was born Aug. 13, 1924, at her family home in Caledonia Township, O’Brien County, Iowa. She was baptized as Mildred Ida Hulda Ella Tesch on Sept. 7, 1924, at St. John Lutheran Church in Germantown. She received her education at St. John Lutheran School, and was confirmed on April 30, 1939, at St. John Lutheran Church.
On July 2, 1950, at St. John Lutheran Church in Germantown, she married Eldon P. Krambeck. She was a hardworking homemaker having a huge garden, canning and freezing it’s produce, plus working odd jobs outside of the home. She was a loving, caring mother to her six children. She was a long-time and oldest member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Galva.
Surviving her are three daughters, Linda Peterson of Sutherland, Ellen (Jerry) Peterman of Denison and Suzan Graham of Cherokee; one daughter-in-law, Sharon Krambeck of Ida Grove; ten grandchildren, Scot (Penny White) Peterson, Jason Peterson, Michael Peterson, Bobbie Jo (Brian) Gaffey, Gale (Kristen) Wessel, Brent (Nicole Knop) Wessel, Nathan (Leah) Graham, Dustin Graham, Steven (Stacy Mousel) Graham and Marisa (Logan) Ginkens; one grandson-in-law, Dan (Kris) Droegmiller; 17 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Marilyn Tesch of Hartley; and many extended relatives and friends.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon; sons, Milan and wife Joan, Elden “Sonny” and wife, Paula and James Krambeck; one granddaughter, Alisha Droegmiller; parents; siblings, Margaret (Vernon) Byers, Melvin (Dorothy) Tesch, Merlon Tesch, Mardella Tesch and three infant siblings; and in-laws, Dorothy (Wayne) Ruser and Arlene (Bob) Gray.
