BATTLE CREEK - Services for Walter R. Volkmann will be held on Saturday, July 13 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 608 5th St., Battle Creek at 11 a.m., with lunch immediately following the service downstairs.

Walter was born Feb. 20, 1960 in Battle Creek, and passed away June 15, 2024 in Missouri.

Son of Leroy R Volkmann and Hazel May (Malone)Volkmann. Walt grew up farming with his family in Iowa. Walt loved his family!

Walt leaves behind his wife Nadine Vigil, 5 siblings Linda Hazel (Volkmann) Collins, Larry LeRoy Volkmann, David Ruben Volkmann, Mary Lou (Volkmann) Dursten, Donna Mae (Volkmann) Reed, 4 Grandchildren Austin Damion Petersen, Alex Nicole Petersen, Blake Jared Petersen, Kylie Colleen Petersen, several nieces and nephews including Desirae Helen (Durston) Gosch and Dillon Lee Durston, 3 step children Christopher Vigil, Tyler Vigil, Calvin Vigil, one step grand child Parker Jason Petersen.

Walt was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Becky (Volkmann) Brewster.
