1961 – 2025
SCHLESWIG - With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Jaye Lynn Claussen, who left this world surrounded by the love of her family on Aug. 20, 2025.
A celebration of Jaye’s life will be held privately with the family.
Born on April 5, 1961, in Schleswig to Everett and May Lou Evers, Jaye grew up with a dream that never wavered—to be a mom and a homemaker. A 1979, graduate of Schleswig High School, she carried the values of her small-town upbringing throughout her life. On Nov. 29, 1986, she married the love of her life, Ed Claussen, and together, they built a life centered on family and love. She poured her heart into raising their children and creating a warm, welcoming home where love was abundant and memories were made daily. For many years, she made her home in Tipton, Iowa, where her presence was a source of comfort and joy to all who knew her.
Jaye is survived by her devoted husband of 38 years, Ed Claussen, and their loving children: Lindy Helm (Levi), Megan Vanderlinden (Jason), Austin Claussen (Becky Hoy), and David Claussen (Kim). She was a proud and doting grandmother to Harper and Hazel Helm, Weston Claussen, Jace and Madison Vanderlinden, Jaxson Claussen and Kaylea Wibben (Erick), and a great-grandmother to Weslie Wibben. She is also survived by her brother, Mark Evers (Barb).
Jaye was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and May Lou Evers of Schleswig.
To Jaye, family was everything. She had a special way of making every gathering feel like home and every person feel valued. Whether she was sharing a laugh, offering advice, or simply listening with an open heart, she gave her love freely and without condition. Her love, generosity, quick wit, and gentle strength will be remembered always.
Jaye’s legacy lives on in the hearts of those she loved and in the many ways she shaped the lives of her children and grandchildren. While we mourn her loss, we take comfort in knowing she is breathing easy and her love will continue to guide us.
