Downtown in Castletown, the Ida Grove Holiday Open House, kicked off on Saturday night, Nov. 22, at Godbersen Park.
The event is organized by the Ida Grove Chamber of Commerce.
Hot cocoa, provided by The Farmacy, was handed out to visitors.
Dan Schroeder and his very friendly horses gave carriage rides from just before sundown to well after dark.
A ceremonial lighting of the Christmas tree took place at 5 p.m.
Bomgaars provided the tree.
