In what was a tight contest for much of the night, the OABCIG baseball squad erupted for 11 runs in the final two innings, doubling up East Sac County 16-8.
The outlook was good for the Ridge View baseball team last Tuesday in Holstein. The Raptors had built a 7-1 lead over Sioux Central after five innings of play, and looked to be on their way to victory in the home opener.
It was somewhat of a good news, bad news day for the Ridge View boys golf squad, at the District tournament in Orange City last week. The Raptor boys played well and tied with Cherokee for second place, after shooting a team score of 320.
The Falcon boys and girls track and field squads journeyed south to Treynor on Thursday, to compete in the Class 2A state qualifying meet. The OABCIG girls took sixth place out of 12 teams at the meet, accumulating 56 total points.
The Ridge View girls track and field squad headed east on Thursday, to compete in the Class 2A state qualifying meet in Manson. The Raptors won second place in the team standings with 75 total points. Forest City accumulated 145 team points to capture first place.
The Ridge View boys track and field squad made a good showing, at the state qualifying track meet in Manson on Thursday, despite being matched up with some of the better squads in Iowa’s Class 2A.
The Ridge View boys golf squad traveled to Carroll last week, to compete in the Class 2A Sectional tournament at Carroll National golf course. The Raptors won third place out of eight teams, with a total score of 342.
The Ridge View girls golf squad qualified for the Western Valley Conference end-of-season tournament, held at Willow Creek golf course in Le Mars last week. The Raptors took fifth place with a team score of 456.
