BC City Council listens to concerns

The Battle Creek Public Library will begin budgeting for utility expenses amid rising inflation, and the Battle Creek City Council heard resident concerns during council’s Jan. 10 meeting.

Sheila Petersen and Jeanie Grove asked the council about its desire for the library to pay utility bills.

Rising equipment costs and expenses are being felt, the city advised.

Additionally, other city entities are already paying likewise.

The library will begin budgeting $750 for the cost with its 2024 budget, council heard.
