Lundell Plastics in Odebolt, Iowa started from one man’s idea to design a plastic auger and has grown into a thriving business. In the early 80’s, Vance Lundell was thinking on his farm that he would like something to get the hog waste out. A steel auger was not useful because the hog waste is too hard on it. Then the idea came to Lundell to design a plastic auger. Little did he know how his idea would grow. He started by making one for his farm, then he made for others. Lundell patented the way they designed the joint of the auger.
