Susan Maass has been teaching a total of 31 years. She started teaching in 1993 at Galva-Holstein for a year, and then started at the Ida Grove High School in 1994, and has been there ever since.
Christa Else presented a Spring Piano Recital on April 28 at Willow Dale in Battle Creek. Else is a piano teacher from Mapleton. She had five of her students play three pieces each, one being a duet with Else herself.
Teachers and naturalists participate in Iowa Science Phenomena at the Ida County Conservation Center on April 27. There were guided hikes in the morning where participants could take pictures or video, which later they uploaded for the project.
Jane Hogue, owner of Prairie Pedlar Gardens just north of Odebolt came to the Odebolt Library on April 26 to demonstrate the beauty behind container gardening. Hogue says,
We all know that Tiffany Mohr has been selling wonderful bouquets of flowers at Sunrise Coffee. On April 27, Mohr provided a Make and Take Bouquet event at Sunrise Coffee. Participants were given instructions on how to make their bouquet and they chose flowers and greenery to work with. This was very popular with around 40 participants all who got to take their bouquet that they had made home for a $25 fee.
