Brian Nook, a former chiropractor of Schaller and Holstein uses the work ethic he grew up here to be successful in the world with his career. His parents are Dale and Eula Nook of Holstein who instilled the great work ethic into their children.
The aquatic center project in Holstein has city council looking an issue with the State Electrical Board and bonding, and library programming is going well with the Christmas season fast approaching.
Holstein City Council met Nov. 7 with council members hearing an ongoing issue with electrical board had yet to be resolved.
Council is also looking at bonding still being pending.
Meanwhile, Stubbs Memorial Library is seeing a busy fall.
Tony Bennett was nominated for Famous in our community. “He has done so much for the community, he is famous in our eyes!” says a community friend.
Famous in the community he is, as he has had quite the life from all the community events and jobs he is involved in now to all he has done in the past in his life. Tony is quite the person to be noted. Tony humbly told me of his life telling more about himself when the recorder was off. Tony speaks with a relaxing tone as he is a man comfortable with himself as he should be for what he has done with his life.

During a Denison appearance, GOP faithful heard a prediction of a “Red Wave” that will roll over a number of races.
The red carpet was rolled out at the Donna Reed Theatre in Denison, as Senator Charles Grassley and Representative Randy Feenstra highlighted the evening.
Press night at the high school was held to see the performance of ‘The Addams Family.’ Ruth Clark stole the show with her wonderful performance. She played Alice, the mother of Lucas, Wednesday’s boyfriend. Her keen and very funny expressions kept us wanting to see more. More so was her confidence in herself on the stage. Job well done!
The Ida County Conference Board met in an adjourned session. In attendance were Supervisors Raymond Drey, Creston Schubert and Rhett Leonard; MayorsDevlun Whiteing, Gary Chase and Charles Pierce; and Mel Obink, GAAP Solutions; as well as Assessor Administrative Assistant Shelby Ellis and Auditor/Assessor Lorna Steenbock.
Mel Obink reported that an Assessor and an Appraiser from the same county are interested in the positions at Ida County. They are planning to visit Ida County on the 25th of October and will notify the County or MeI of their intentions.
Just outside of Odebolt, an amazing site made me stop and take a look. There was a man flying a kite next to a four-wheeled vehicle. From a distance, I could see the enjoyment he was having watching the kite fly high up in the sky. At the time of that picture, I was not close enough to talk, but later I found out who he was.
Side-by-side businesses owned by Kendra Fender coming out to the community with an official ribbon-cutting for K&K Expressions, a boutique and Twice But Nice, a used and consignment store. K&K Expressions has been in business three years and one year in this location, while Twice But Nice has been open for three months.
