The OABCIG girls track and field squad captured fifth place in Ida Grove last Tuesday. The Falcons scored 62 total team points, just shy of Newell-Fonda with 63 points, but edging out South Central Calhoun with 61 points. Ridge View won the meet with 148 team points, while Fort Dodge scored 96 points, Bishop Heelan scored 81 points, Woodbine scored 41 points, and Boyer Valley scored 33 points.
The OABCIG girls golf team took sixth place at the Western Valley Conference golf meet in Onawa last week. The Falcons had two golfers place in the top five individual scores, as Rylee Krayenhagen shot a 52 to capture third place, and Avaree Miller shot a 53 to earn fifth place. Natalie Burk fired a 60, while Kiersten Schultz shot a 75. OABCIG finished with a team score of 240, compared to first place MVAO-COU with a 214.
The Ridge View girls track and field squad captured first place at the OABCIG Coed Track Meet on Thursday night in Ida Grove. The Raptors scored 187 team points, compared to second place Lawton-Bronson’s 128.5 points. Ridge View took second and third place in the 100 meter dash, as Shae Dutler finished in 14.05 seconds and Hannah Ehrp finished in 14.22 seconds. Gabi Mason won the 200 meter dash for the Raptors in a time of 28.23 seconds, while Ehrp finished in sixth place with a time of 29.05 seconds.
The Ridge View boys track and field squad captured first place at the OABCIG Coed track meet on Thursday night in Ida Grove. The Raptors were named co-champs after finishing in a tie with IKM-Manning. Brody Deitering won the 100 meter dash for Ridge View with a time of 11.99 seconds. Earnie Clayton finished in sixth place with a time of 12.42 seconds, followed immediately by Isaac Goettsch with a time of 12.47 seconds. In the 200 meter dash, Tyhler Kolpin took fifth place with a time of 24.94 seconds.
The OABCIG boys track and field squad captured third place at their own meet on Thursday night. The Falcons scored 102 team points, just a few points behind co-champions Ridge View and IKM-Manning. Gabe Winterrowd took third place in the 100 meter dash in a time of 12.19 seconds, while Josh Peters took fifth place in a time of 12.38 seconds. In the 200 meter dash, Winterrowd captured fourth place in a time of 24.77 seconds. Winterrowd also placed third in the 400 meter dash with a time of 54.76 seconds.
The Ridge View girls track and field squad captured first place at the annual Ace Nelson Relays in Denison last Tuesday. The Raptors scored 118.5 team points, compared to second place Lawton-Bronson’s 107 points.
The OABCIG girls track and field squad placed fourth in their own meet on Thursday. The Falcons scored 68 team points, finishing behind Ridge View, Lawton-Bronson, and IKM-Manning.
The Ridge View boys golf squad placed second on Thursday night in Holstein, competing against River Valley, Woodbury Central and Lawton-Bronson. The Raptors shot a team score of 178, just one stroke behind Woodbury Central’s 177. River Valley posted a 192, while Lawton-Bronson finished with a 197.
The Ridge View boys golf team edged Newell-Fonda 170-173 last Tuesday in Holstein. Brady Clausen fired a 41 to win medalist honors for the Raptors. The Ridge View boys all shot well, as Ethan Mason finished right behind Clausen with a 42, followed closely by Aiden Martin with a 43. Levi Albers shot a 44, while Gavin Vohs was close behind with a 45. Cayden Clausen fired a 50 to round out the Ridge View scoring. The Ridge View girls golf team fell to Newell-Fonda 200-235 at Newell. Emma Vohs fired a 51 to earn runner-up honors.
The Ridge View girls track and field squad captured first place in the Russ Kraai Relays at Holstein last Monday. The Raptors scored 128 team points, compared to second place South O’Brien with 105 points and third place Sioux Central with 102 points. Alta-Aurelia scored 90 points, while West Monona tallied 76 points. MMC-RU finished with 42 points.
