Jack Holmes is proud to say that he comes from a family that values service to our country. His grandfather in 1898 volunteered with the Iowa Infantry in the Spanish American War. Holmes’ father during WWII at age 36 volunteered with the Marines as a Lieutenant.
Trick-or-Treat delights all ages at Odebolt Specialty Care. Residents had Halloween buckets of candy ready to give the kids who came trick-or-treating on Oct. 31. Lots of smiles were on the faces of one and all.
Zane Johnson, from a farm near Odebolt, shares his life as a veteran. He went into the National Guard in 1966. He went to Basic Training, came back, went to AIT training for six months, came back.
SueAna’s Gifts and More opened up Oct. 13 next to Trendue Salon in Ida Grove. Wendy Sue Mosier and Shiloh Anastasia Scott are the owners of the shop. Their middle names make the name of the shop. Mosier says,
A Halloween party took place on Oct. 22 at the Ida Grove Skate Palace. All proceeds went to the Kidzone Child Care Center. There were games and scary and not so scary Halloween participants.
