Novemberfest was the 28th annual pork loin supper put on by St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Holstein on Nov. 5. Over 1,000 carry-out meals were sold to the community of Holstein for $15 each.
OABCIG Veterans Day Program took place on Nov. 10 at Odebolt Middle School. To welcome us to the program was Mr. Mogenson, Breah Harms, and Tori Johnson. Dave Viggers and Rudy Thies from the American Legion, Roose Post 313 led the Posting of Colors. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by David Viggers and recited by everyone. Everyone joined in to sing the Star Spangled Banner led by David Viggers.
Over 1,000 votes were cast in an off-year election as 22.5 percent of Ida County’s 4,826 registered voters cast ballots.
Jared Bogue took a whopping 98.91 percent of Ida Grove votes for an At-Large seat on Ida Grove City Council with Gregor Ernst taking 97.73 percent of the Ward 1 votes and Jason Schable earning 98.55 for Ward 3 while Nathan Weitl won 96.83 to fill a vacancy for the mayor’s job.
Reynold McLead won 98.35 percent for an At-Large council seat to fill a vacancy.
The Stagecoach Inn is located in what is now called Moorehead Pioneer Park. This is the original house which has served not only as a home, but also a schoolhouse, courtroom, post office, hospital, and stagecoach inn for travelers.
Corry Gorden, owner of Gorden’s Body Shop in Ida Grove, has been working on cars his whole life. Along with his wife Vicki, he has managed the business for over 15 years.
Karla Ehlers, location leader at AgState’s Galva location, took a little time out of her busy day to discuss the business, as well as her role with it. Ehlers gave a brief summary of the operation.
