A Bitcoin mining endeavor is suing in Ida County Court over alleged fraud involving sites in Galva and Arthur.
BitCap IA, LLC has filed a lawsuit alleging misrepresentation by Paul Thiara and DIGTB, Inc. with damages sought in at least the six figures.
The Moonlight Garden Party will make a return to Prairie Pedlar Gardens this Sunday, Aug. 3.
“The Moonlight Garden Party is kind of a fan-favorite. We started doing it in 1997, and we did it for about 20 years,” said Jane Hogue, who owns Prairie Pedlar along with her husband, Jack.
“Then we kind of took a break. We were so busy with weddings on weekends that we couldn’t find a date to ever have it.”
A public meeting to discuss cancer in Ida County is planned.
The Iowa Cancer Registry and University of Iowa College of Public Health, in collaboration with the Iowa Cancer Consortium, University of Iowa Health Care Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center, and Iowa Rural Health Association, is hosting the Cancer in Iowa: 99 Counties Project to present county-specific cancer information and address community concerns in each of Iowa’s 99 counties.
As the statewide unemployment average climbed up to 3.7 percent, Ida County beat that with 3.3 percent.
Cherokee County led the region with 2.8 percent, tying Plymouth County, while Monona County was slightly higher at three percent. Buena Vista had 3.4 percent, Sac County stood at 3.5 percent while Woodbury had 3.9 percent, with Crawford County seeing the highest in the region at 4.5 percent.
Iowa’s rate was up from 3.6 percent to 3.7 percent as the national rate was 4.1 percent.
