Sales receipts from the Ida County Fair livestock auction on July 21 totaled $607,611.76. That figure was up from last year’s total of $516,908.26. The total number of animals sold was 345, up from last year’s total of 313. This year, there were 114 hogs, 151 cattle (including 45 pens of three), 64 sheep, and 16 chickens.
The Ida Grove King Theatre is set for a trip back in time on Tuesday, Aug. 12.
The theater will play host to a showing of the 1973 film “American Graffiti,” written and directed by George Lucas, and a car show that will celebrate the film’s cruising culture theme.
The event will be a community activity and a fundraiser for the theater.
