SIOUX CENTER - Leona Mae (Hopsecker) Laursen, 99, of Sioux Center, Iowa (formerly of Battle Creek) passed away on Friday, Sept. 8, 2023, at the Sioux Center Health of Sioux Center, Iowa.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 14, 2023, at the First Presbyterian Church of Battle Creek. Rev. Kevin J. Freese will officiate. Committal Services will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery of Battle Creek.
Dolores A. Meyer, age 92, of Holstein, passed away on Friday, September 1, 2023 at the Good Samaritan Society of Holstein. A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 3, 2023 at 4:00 PM at the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church of Holstein with the Pastor Bob Lewis officiating. Burial was at the Holstein Cemetery of Holstein. A visitation was prior to the service at 2:30 PM at the church. The Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home of Holstein was in charge of the arrangements.
IDA GROVE - Carol Beth Goldsmith, 67, of Ida Grove, passed away on Aug. 24, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones at her residence of Ida Grove. As a young child, when told her grandfather had gone to heaven, she came to the conclusion that heaven was the funeral home in Ida Grove, and folks received bubble gum upon arrival. She is now walking the streets of gold in a far more glorious place.
BATTLE CREEK - Darla Krueger, 74, of Battle Creek, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2023, at the Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital of Council Bluffs, Iowa.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Aug. 28, 2023, at the St. John’s Lutheran Church of Battle Creek. Rev. Randy D. Cormeny will officiate. Committal Services will be held at a later date.
DES MOINES - Roberta “Bobbe” Cordes, 85, of Des Moines, Iowa (formerly of Odebolt) passed away on Monday, Aug. 14, 2023, at the Valley View Village of Des Moines, Iowa.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 26, 2023, at the First Presbyterian Church of Odebolt. Rev. Kevin J. Freese will officiate.
A Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., on Friday, Aug. 25, 2023, at the Christensen-Van Houten Funeral Home of Odebolt.
