The OABCIG and Cherokee softball matchup featured a little bit of everything, from solid hits and bunts, to baserunning adventures and lead changes. And when the dust had settled, the Falcons came out on top of a back-and-forth affair by a score of 7-6.
The Ridge View softball team took on Storm Lake St. Mary’s last week, at the Panthers’ home field in Storm Lake.
The Raptors struck first, taking a 1-0 lead in the first inning. The Panthers responded by plating a pair of runs in the bottom of the first, to reclaim a 2-1 advantage.
The OABCIG baseball squad made quick work of Alta-Aurelia last week, building a 10-2 lead after three innings and cruising to a 13-2 victory.
The Falcons made the trek north to Alta on Wednesday, to tangle with the Warriors of A-A. OABCIG jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead in the first inning. Alta-Aurelia answered with a run of their own to make the score 3-1 after one inning of play.
The Ridge View baseball team wrapped up the regular season in style, rolling past Newell-Fonda to the tune of 14-2, on Thursday in Fonda.
The Raptors jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning, and scored again in the third and fourth innings for a 3-0 advantage. Ridge View then plated a pair of runs in the fifth to go up 5-0.
The Mustangs got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the fifth, trimming the lead to 5-1.
